When God Chooses Your Life

When God Chooses Your Life

BY LARALOVE

“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Cor. 6:20

“Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also [in comparison to loving Jesus rather than God calling us to hate – per how some understand this verse], he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:25-33 [brackets and content therein added for help in understanding]

What if you surrendered your life 100% to the Lord Jesus Christ? Not holding anything back? Willing to yield to Him your plans, dreams, agenda, calendar, time, heart, your work life, your social life, your entertainment life, your romantic life, your family life, your travel life, your sports and hobby life, your housing, your plans, your absolutely everything? Would your life look the same as it does right now? Or would it be entirely different? Or perhaps somewhere in between?

Have you surrendered all to Jesus? Are you willing to forsake everything and everyone for Him? Are you willing to let God have sole charge of your life? Are you truly willing for Christ to be not just Savior of your life but LORD of your life?

My life looks so incredibly indescribably different than anything I would ever have wanted and chosen for myself that it’s almost unrecognizable. But I finally understand it’s not my life. It’s Christ’s life. For Christ’s followers belong to Him. Our lives are not our own. They belong to Him. He bought us with the price of the blood He shed on the cross when He died to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead so all who believe in Him as Lord, truly devoting their lives to God and His ways, are forgiven and given a forever relationship with Him.

What we once thought of as our lives become His vessels for Christ to live in, and for Christ to live through. We become His. We belong to Jesus.

Have you yielded yourself utterly to Jesus? Have you received Him as your Savior? Have you received Him as your Lord? Are you living your life accordingly? According to God and His ways? For God’s glory? Letting Him choose your life day in and day out? Praying to Him, drawing close and closer to Him, becoming more and more like Him as you grow in His image, seeking Him for His will for your life and striving to fulfill His plans and purpose for you? Day by day? Moment by moment?

May today be the day for a fresh start! For a rock solid faith in and commitment to Christ forevermore! Let God choose your life! Let His Spirit lead you forth! Now and forever, AMEN!

Come Back to Jesus!

How about you, friend? May I ask you this? Have you turned from your sins and received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Is your life truly devoted to Him? Do you bear the fruit of a life lived for Christ? And, if so, are you taking the love, time, and care daily to tell the world about Him? Are you sold out to Jesus? And to telling people the only way to everlasting life is through Christ?

Blessedness in Singleness

The single life for Christ is not for everyone. But for those of us it is for, the Lord will give us the strength we need, the love we desire, absolutely everything we need to walk day by day through this life without a human romantic companion, knowing there is no companion anyway that even comes close to the one who is forever. Than to Jesus. Than to Christ. Than to the Lord! AMEN!

Deny Self and Go

Now, mind you, everywhere He has sent me I haven’t wanted to go, He has blessed me immeasurably in the way of opportunities to grow in His image and to love and worship and serve Him and to love and serve others. Not to mention He has blessed me in other ways also – even when it’s been tough to go and tough to stay until He’s moved me on.
