Is This Honoring to God?

““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Mt. 7:21-23

Is this honoring to God?

Have you ever asked yourself that question? Most importantly, have you ever asked THE LORD the question? Is what you’re doing honoring to God? Is what you’re thinking honoring to God? Is what you’re feeling honoring to God?

It’s one thing to tell the world we believe Jesus Christ is Lord. And to go to church. And to read the Bible. And to attend a church small group. And to go to Bible study. And to call ourselves Christians. It’s another thing entirely to live our lives accordingly. To live our lives utterly surrendered to Christ as Lord. To make our daily decisions according to this question.

Is this honoring to God? 

Think about it. Is what you watch on television honoring to God? Are the books you read honoring to God? Are your relationships honoring to God? Is the way you treat people honoring to God? Is your job honoring to God? Is your attitude honoring to God? Is the way you are raising your kids honoring to God? Is what you do on Sundays honoring to God? And all the rest of the days of the week? Is how you spend your free time honoring to God? Is your entertainment honoring to God? Is what and how you eat and drink honoring to God?

My friend, heaven and a forever relationship with God are not simply for those who say they believe in Jesus. Even the devils believe in God. The kind of faith we need for God’s forgiveness and the promise of a forever relationship with Him goes hand in hand with our hearts and lives being truly devoted to Jesus. It’s the kind of faith that involves a turning from a lifestyle of sin to a lifestyle in which we live to love and honor and worship and serve and obey and magnify and praise and revere and glorify God.

IS YOUR LIFE HONORING TO GOD?

From the really big stuff down to the really small stuff, are you living your life in such a way that God almighty is honored?
