Facing the Wrong Direction?

Facing the Wrong Direction?

BY LARALOVE

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.” Psalm 105:1

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.” James 3:17

“My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;…” Proverbs 2:1-7

Needing answers? Trying to make a decision? Having trouble figuring out what to do? Feeling confused? Wondering if you’re headed in the wrong direction? Or the right direction? Or not headed in any direction at all? Stuck? Unclear? Wondering which way to turn? Is it possible you’re facing the wrong direction?

When we’re at a crossroads, and we sense it’s time to move forward, but we can’t figure out the next step, we can find ourselves turning toward the world. Or turning toward the Lord. We can face the wrong direction. Or we can face the right direction. We can go to the well of the world in search of answers. Or we can go to the well of the Lord. We can seek the world’s wisdom. Or we can search for the Lord’s wisdom. The world offers endless counsel, endless possibilities, endless advice, endless wisdom. Worldly wisdom. But there is only one full-proof, absolutely right way to go. The way of the Lord. In pursuit of the Lord Jesus Christ. In pursuit of God’s will. In pursuit of God’s ways. In pursuit of His Word. In pursuit of loving and obeying and serving and worshiping Christ.

If you’re facing the world, friend, you’re facing the wrong direction. Turn around and face the Lord. Cry out to Him. Seek Him for His direction. Seek Him for His wisdom. Seek Him for His love, mercy, grace, hope, joy, and strength. Dig deep into His Word. Ask Him if you’re His follower to fill you with His Spirit. Again and again. To be filled continually with His Spirit. Trust Him to speak to your heart.

And follow Him faithfully. Don’t follow the world and its wisdom. Follow Jesus and His. Live for Him. He will direct your steps. Now and forever. Let Him direct your path!

Come Back to Jesus!

How about you, friend? May I ask you this? Have you turned from your sins and received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Is your life truly devoted to Him? Do you bear the fruit of a life lived for Christ? And, if so, are you taking the love, time, and care daily to tell the world about Him? Are you sold out to Jesus? And to telling people the only way to everlasting life is through Christ?

I Don’t Believe in Me

That’s when it dawned on me. That I don’t believe in me. And that I don’t believe I can succeed. In anything. You know how our world teaches us that we should believe in ourselves? And believe that we can do anything and everything? That we should chase after our dreams? That we should trust in ourselves? That we should believe we can do whatever we set our minds to? And so on? How could I keep moving ahead in my ministry work without believing in me? And in what I could accomplish in my strength?

Help Me to Love

Why do I pray this? Why am I sharing this with you? To love is not always so very easy. Sometimes it is so very hard. Sometimes it seems impossible. At times I have been so very mad at God because of my life’s challenges at the time, or because I didn’t get something I prayed for, that I had everything but love in my heart. I had everything but praise in my mind and my mouth. I missed love in my actions. Oh, how wrong I was to be mad at God! I needed to purify myself and love the Lord instead. With all my heart. As He commands us.

Discouraging Voices

Discouragement can come from within. Discouragement can come from without. Sometimes discouragement comes from strangers. Sometimes friends. Sometimes even those closest to us. It never feels good, does it? And if we allow ourselves to fall victim to discouraging voices, we can find ourselves feeling down, depressed, confused, disappointed, scared, worried, bitter, resentful, etc. Anything but encouraged and excited as the Spirit of God beckons us to go forward.

  1. Well all I see here is the people that are talking about them self where are the singles men for women who are not yet married? Where are the Men I pay to be here yes I did I am not here for jokes .

  2. It is sin to refuse baptism. For this is the counsel of God.

    Their comes a time in our lives where we have to or need to make a choice. Which way will you choose heaven or hell. Will you continue to walk in the counsel of the un-godly or will hear from heaven and turn from your wicked ways. God bless.
